Motuihe Island Tree Planting

The weather in Auckland was cold, windy and raining, but that did not stop 120 of us boarding a ferry to Motuihe Island for our first tree planing.
Once we arrived at the island the sun came out.
We were split into two groups.  One group went out into the field and planted mature trees and the second ground worked in the nursery transplanting the baby seedlings into bigger pots for them to grow stronger.
The group in the field planted 450 mature plants and the nursery group transplanted over 500 seedlings.
Once the hard work was over, the BBQ started up and we had a feast and return back to the jetty to catch the ferry.  A great day was had by all.  Thank you to the Department of Conservation and the Auckland Korean Rotary Club for joining us on our new adventure.  See you all again in 2018.
